Sometimes, you may feel powerless to circumstance.  That is normal.  Who wants to be normal though?   You can fit in and shut up, or go along with the crowd's consensus, or you can stand out and be an original.  We are of course all originals, with a varying degree of fusion of other people's influence on our lives.  Starting when you are young, you see in others what you like and dislike and model yourself as such.  So here's where the fun begins.  Every day, we have the power to change who we are by one really deliberate thing...our words.  What words do you say often?  If someone is complaining it is so hot outside, you can go along and join in.  Another option is notice the sky and say, "WOW!  Look, the sky is the most beautiful shade of blue."  Imagine, the feeling of ahhhhh....this is bliss.  The people you are speaking to may look at you as though you have two heads.  But the whole thing is, it is their judgment of what you should be talking about or what reality is.  You can stand next to someone and be having two totally different experiences.  How your life plays out is the story you tell of it, to others and in your head.  

The story I tell is that I am a stay-at-home mommy of four who is an aspiring writer and I love life.  I choose to love my life as it is, knowing I have a bright future ahead of me.  I love to use words, they are very powerful, and as a writer they are a tool.  They are my paintbrush, my clay, my voice.  It is so fun to play with that!  Someone asks, "How are you?"  "I am peach keen-jellybean!"  That's from the movie Grease, Ii always loved that line.  There are many words that are so powerful in how they make you feel.  What I like to put out there in the  Universe is good-feeling words and energy, as much as possible.  Focusing on what I don't have is silly when I can live in the now, in my happy life.  Head in the clouds with my rose-colored glasses is really a magical feeling!   Play with what you say, YAY!  Why not have fun, with a pun!  Give it a whirl, be silly girl! I gave myself permission to be more fun and have more fun.  You just have to lighten up and let yourself be free.  Instead of saying you are feeling crappy, say you are happy.  You have nothing to lose.  Waiting for life to be perfect in every way is so boring.  Live joy now, in the moment.

I watched Oprah's last show last night and instead of being sad that it was ending, I was uplifted.  She said so many gems, in her talk of lessons about energy, God, being worthy, being able to make your dreams come true, following your inner voice above others…oh so many quote-ables.  I couldn’t delete the recording because it was like a beautiful reminder class for me.  Anyone who knows where she came from, with all the “who does she thinks she is” attitude, that she dealt with would marvel at what she has accomplished. 

I started watching her when I was eleven.  I watched when I could through my adolescence but was doing my thing.  When I had my daughter, I was a brand new mom and barely a grown-up.  I was twenty and had plenty to learn about myself.  It was almost like I had to make a million mistakes, hate myself, and beat myself up in order to be worthy then to get to my real life.  I learned over the years what she would say about her dumb twenties because I thought I knew everything but really I had only begun.  I listened as Oprah taught me I was good enough and that you are NOT your mistakes, that living in the past is pointless.  She told about her humble beginnings and rising to her success but I still didn’t think I could do anything BIG.  Now, I know you are only limited by your own mind. 

She taught me to use my heart for a greater good, seeing that we could all do a little something to help people around the world.  Many a times, after her shows, I had a new understanding of something, could see a different point of view, and I appreciated my own life even more.  That forgiveness is about letting go of that negative energy so that you can be happy, doesn’t mean you condone what person did.  And that you always have to forgive yourself to heal you life and grow.  She showed me people from all walks of life and that everyone is going through their own stuff so don't be so damn judgmental.  The AHA moments for Oprah were gifts for us all also.  Even the super fun, celeb, or fashion episodes were great because of her enthusiasm.  Her zest for life and authenticity is truly inspiring. 

When Oprah did not agree with someone, she had such class and integrity with how she spoke.  She did not need to convince anyone of her point of view.  I did not always agree with her either and that’s the beauty of it.  She introduces me to the term “people pleaser”  and I was like…oh crap, that’s me.  I learned that I had to let that go to fully become myself because you can’t please everyone.  If everyone always agreed it would be boring and Oprah’s shows would have pointless, it would have been nothing new.  Her book clubs were a test to that.  Every different person brings something beautiful to the table.  Diversity makes the world go round.  I read a handful of the books and I’m so glad I did.  They were books I would have never picked up otherwise.  It expanded my mind and awareness of human nature.  Eat Pray Love totally rocked my world.  All of them contributed to me deciding that I could be a writer.  And I learned that every writer has doubts but their passion keeps them going.

Years ago, she had a segment at the end of her show called Remembering your spirit.  Connecting with God through myself was a really new concept and I was empowered on my spiritual path.   She also got us all thinking about gratitude and writing in our journals.  Probably thirteen years ago, Madonna was being interviewed by Oprah and spoke of her love for yoga, so I took yoga classes.  That led me to great people and workshops, seeking God and what that meant for me.  Gary Zukav was a regular guest talking some really deep stuff about the Universe I as really trying to understand.  Iyanla Vanzant was about empowering ourselves and personal growth.  Eckhart Tolle was mind-blowing, I really connected to all he said and I started aligning with looking for my life’s purpose.  Oprah  always made me ask more questions to lead me to my next step.  When she did the show about the Secret, I devoured all that up.  More shows about the Law of Attraction followed and my heart leaped with joy.  I heard about Abraham-hicks from her and it led me to really embody who I had always wanted to be.  I am a fun and deep person .  I own that I am fabulous.  I declare to the Universe I am all that and a bag of chips.  I love chips and so does Oprah. 

I can’t wait to see what she does with her network, I’m sure she will come up with some awesome spiritual stuff, which is the yummy stuff I like.  Oprah will always be one of greatest teachers and I wish her the greatest happiness in this next chapter in her life.  She deserves it and we do too, she taught me that too.  Her messages finding your voice, following your bliss, and letting love be the guiding force in your life are worth all the money she has earned.  I could write a novel on what I learned from the big O, but lastly, she made me think about getting older as being wiser, happier, and that you can change.  She is like fine wine, she just gets better with age and more expensive.  :)

I shine my Light so bright, showering the world with my love. I AM filled with JOY as I feel my alignment and Divine connection. Did you feel it?

Life’s a beach.  The beach was beautiful today! My kids found a hole on the beach already dug out, which is a magical find for kids. All these kids flocked to them and we always have new friends we meet. I love watching my kids be so accepting of others, sharing their stuff, and making life their playground. Seamus spots dogs a mile away, this russet colored dog was named Nacho whose owners had a baby with Seamus's birthday. The ocean renews my spirit, seeing how everything is so connected and I am so blessed and loved. Ahh...life's good.

Next time someone asks me, "How are you?" I'm going to say...
"Luscious,
Fabulous,
Delicious!"

And then when they look shocked, I'm going to say, "I am perfection!"

When they search for words to respond, I'll say, "Dontcha just love me!" And I'll laugh like an eccentric-happy-rich-woman because...WHY NOT!

When I see a rainbow,
